Personality: Mardyn is a generally very easy-going individual, though not without a certain degree of logical thinking and sharp wit. Mardyn finds the strange things of the world (or any world) to be interesting, but is not one to take crap. Takes life seriously, but seriously enjoys life.
History: Mardyn is a member of a tribe of M'Dylgo (tree keepers) who have recently become more cultured and have learned more about medicine, reading, and writing from a missionary named Jarren Thorn. Jarren is a cool, harsh mannered, well educated M'Dylgo with a good heart that he doesn't like to show to others. Yet he came to the pagan tribe to aid and teach them without expecting anything in return. In fact, all that he gained was the dependence of the tribe, and a cheerful assistant in Mardyn.
Mardyn, having recently lost a mother in a forest fire and been left with a farmer father and a younger sister to care for, pestered Jarren with helpfulness until the poor Medicine man finally caved and provided a job for the young Tree Keeper. Though he mostly had Mardyn running errands and keeping things tidy, he occasionally took the time to teach Mardyn how to treat wounds and how to make more effective herbal medicines.
Mardyn works hard for Jarren, adds some decoration to the office to cheer things up a bit, and makes a point of looking after the stubborn man. They now share a mutual respect for each other.
Abilities: As is typical of the M'Dylgo race, Mardyn has the ability to shift into small animal form, as well as communicate with and manipulate live plants into any form, though it is still of course live wood (the roots or seed must be at the center of the item in order for it to be movable, and one must still care for it as they would a regular plant). Beyond racial traits, Mardyn does not seem to have any special skills.
